Road Trip Case

Who's up for a road trip? Join us in class to make the Road Trip Case by Noodlehead and you'll be all set for your next one. This unique design for a portable sewing kit is a great way to carry your supplies and get organized for your next class or sew day with friends. Pre-Cutting/Prep for this class will be required.

Instructor Zina Clark has been using her Road Trip for more than five years and still loves it. The flat design allows it to fit into a tote without being too bulky and will also fit into the large back pocket of her sewing machine cover. There are plenty of pockets to store sewing notions, rotary cutters and scissors, thread, and small rulers.  You will love this bag!

Materials included as part of the cost of the class include Road Trip Case pattern by Noodlehead, along with the interior bits (zipper, vinyl, SF 101 instead of canvas, Annie's Soft and Stable instead of batting, and a zipper pull charm.)

An optional finishing class will be held on January 28th.

You will need to provide the following supplies to complete this project:

  • 4 fat quarters for exterior, lining, interior pockets, accents
  • 1⁄2” wide double fold bias tape - 2 yards - OR one extra fat quarter for self-made bias binding
  • Buttons - 1 for flap pocket option, 3 for long pocket options

Helpful tools and supplies:
  • Wonder Clips
  • Walking foot/dual feed foot
  • Frixion or water-soluble marking pens
  • Glue Pen
  • Basting spray (for main exterior and batting/flex foam)

Bring one extra fat quarter to make bias binding, if you do not want to use pre-purchased double fold bias tape. I will show you how to make it!
