The Sewing Escape Information & Policies

 Studio Time:

  • Appointments are greatly appreciated and recommended.  Priority is given to individuals with a reservation, but drop ins are welcome as long as there is space.
  • As a courtesy, if you are unable to make your scheduled studio time, please let me know by phone or email so we don’t worry about you.

Classes and Workshops:
  • Class sizes are very limited (usually 12 students per class) and are filled on a first come, first served basis,  Registration is done in-person, online via the website, or by phone.   A completed registration will guarantee your spot.   We will create a wait list in case of an opening due to a cancellation.
  • Classes and Workshops are final and non-refundable.
  • If The Sewing Escape™ cancels a class or workshop due to enrollment requirements, , a full refund will be given.  You will be notified if this occurs.
General information:
  • Basic rotary cutting and sewing skills are assumed when attending studio time and classes/workshops.  If you do not have these basic skills, please join us for your own private lesson(s).  We would love the opportunity to help you get started.
  • Studio time is working independently on your own projects.  Studio time does not include instruction, or an instructor, and is not intended to take the place of a class.
  • It is recommended that you call ahead regarding our hours of operation as our schedule varies.
Sewing Machines and Tools
  • Domestic sewing machine rentals are available for just $10 per session.  It is recommended you make your reservation in advance.
  • Sewing machines brought to the studio should be clean and in good working condition. Be familiar with the machine and bring any accessories you think you may need along with your instruction manual.
  • You will need to bring in the necessary items for your project. Some items may be available for purchase in the retail portion of the store.
Accuquilt Rental
  • The Accuquilt cutter and dies are available for rent at either $3 per 15 min or $1 per pass.
  •  Die cutting saves time, but there are still some preparation tips to help you use your rental time efficiently.

    • Iron your fabric to remove wrinkles.  Press out the factory fold on all yardage cuts.
    • If you are using a pattern, bring all pages of your pattern with you.

A Word about Copyrighted Material
  • Many projects require you to purchase a book or pattern. Since the information contained in those books or patterns is considered “copyrighted” material, it is illegal to photocopy all or any portion of the information, even just to share with a friend to use during studio time. We want to support the creative efforts of the hard-working designers who develop our favorite projects and encourage them to continue to publish and create. In order to do that, we must properly compensate them for sharing their ideas with us by purchasing their books and patterns. Thank you for your cooperation and consideration.
